Former Romanian Prime Minister Adrian Nastase said in a recent interview that the Belt and Road Initiative benefits global development and is a great project of the century. He also spoke highly of Chinese-style modernization, saying that China has become a major advocate of globalization.

In his view, Chinese-style modernization is a set of development models different from the West, coupled with the Global Development Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and very concrete and pragmatic plans such as the Belt and Road Initiative, all of which add up to not only change the world order to a certain extent, but also create a new stage of development for China.

As a staunch supporter of the Belt and Road Initiative, Romania is one of the countries with the largest investment by China in Central and Eastern Europe. In the first quarter of 2023, the bilateral trade volume between China and Romania reached 2.56 billion US dollars, an increase of 4.7%. Romanian wine, cosmetics and other quality products are becoming more and more popular among Chinese consumers.

As an important city on the Maritime Silk Road, facing the sea, Shenzhen's high-quality development has also been sailing away. When the reporter asked about the economic possibilities between Shenzhen and Romania in the future, Nastase smiled and said that he had been to Shenzhen 30 years ago, Romania is a small country with a population similar to Beijing, the capital of China, for Romania, not only to establish political ties with China in the future, but also to have more cities in China in the future. Such as Shenzhen to establish a direct connection. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
