On June 15, 2023, the BYD Global R&D Center and Energy Storage Industrial Park project began construction in Longgang District.

It is understood that BYD's global R&D center integrates functions such as administrative office, research and development, and living facilities. It is committed to building a R&D center with global influence and visibility. The project plans to invest 20 billion yuan and is expected to add about 60000 new R&D positions after completion. The BYD Energy Storage Industrial Park project will add an additional 20GWh of energy storage system capacity after its completion, with over 10000 research and development personnel.
