Tanzania Central Line Standard Gauge Railway is an important sea passage connecting Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and other surrounding countries to the Indian Ocean, and also an important part of the central corridor planning network in East Africa. The fifth bid section project undertaken by China Civil Engineering Group Co., Ltd. is located in northern Tanzania. The main line of the line is 237km long. After completion, it will be connected with the water transportation of Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in the world, to achieve land and water transportation.

This project assists in the employment development of local women. Roller operator Niamitz stated that she is happy to participate in this project and suggests that other girls around her practice more and become operators like her. After the implementation of this project, it will greatly enhance the local transportation capacity and reduce transportation costs in inland areas.

From the TAZARA Railway built in the 1970s to the standard gauge railway of Tanzania Central Line under construction today, with the joint efforts of China and Africa, the "road" of Africa's land development has been extended. Half a century later, this electrified light from the East - the Tanzania Central Line Standard Gauge Railway - will continue to shine brightly on the land of East Africa!Editor/Ma Xue
