This is China's first 5G aggregation platform application center, dedicated to promoting 5G base station energy management.

The construction of Virtual power plant is the key work promoted by Shenzhen Municipal Government. The access of 5G base station energy storage system to Virtual power plant is an important practice of China Southern Power Grid Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau and Shenzhen Tower in integrating and serving the national strategy, local development, and the overall situation of the industry.

Virtual power plant is a set of energy management system. Through the energy Internet technology, it can aggregate, manage and optimize the power load resources scattered in the end users, such as charging, air conditioning, lighting, energy storage, etc. The energy storage system is the core system that ensures the continuous power supply of the 5G base station. When there is an abnormality or failure in the power supply, it will transform into a power bank and serve as a backup power supply to the base station. Since the 5G base station energy storage system is mostly idle at ordinary times, it is connected to the Virtual power plant management center after aggregation to increase or reduce the energy storage power without affecting the normal operation of the base station. It not only participates in the regulation of power grid electricity, assists in solving the problem of power congestion in local areas, but also helps to reduce the cost of power investment and construction, improve the resource utilization rate of the power system, and promote sustainable and green development of social resources.

At the same time, the energy storage system of 4692 5G base stations of Shenzhen Tower is connected to the management center of Virtual power plant, which successfully connects the real-time data of energy consumption, energy consumption plan, regulation plan, regulation command and other data between the load side and the grid dispatching side. It is estimated that the adjustable load is 15000 kilowatts, which is equivalent to the power load of 20000 air conditioners.
