On the morning of June 29, 2023, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between CEEC Tianjin Electric Power Construction and the Republic of Malawi project was held in the headquarters building. Fu Xiujun, Secretary and Chairman of the Tianjin Electric Power Construction Party Committee, and Jacob Hara, Minister of Transport and Public Works of Malawi, jointly attended the signing ceremony. Before the signing ceremony, both parties had a discussion and exchange.

Fu Xiujun, on behalf of Tianjin Electric Power Construction, warmly welcomed the visit of the Minister and his delegation, and expressed gratitude for Malawi's care and support to Tianjin Electric Power Construction. He expressed that China Malaysia relations continue to develop steadily and healthily, and cooperation has yielded fruitful results. TPEC actively responded to the the Belt and Road Initiative, CEEC continued to speed up the pace of going global, and has rich experience in overseas implementation. Tianjin Electric Power Construction will continue to adhere to the principle of owners having needs, electric power construction having advantages, mutual consensus, and win-win cooperation. We look forward to deepening cooperation levels and expanding cooperation space with the Malawi government in infrastructure, energy and electricity fields, and contributing Tianjin Electric Power Construction to improving the level of economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia.

Jacob Hara expressed gratitude to Tianjin Electric Power Construction for its warm reception and active participation in Malawi's infrastructure construction. He pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, the relationship between the two countries has developed rapidly and healthily, political mutual trust has continued to strengthen, Malawi has obvious geographical advantages, rich mineral resources, beautiful tourism scenery, and has obvious latecomer advantages. As one of the early companies to go global, Tianjin Electric Power Construction has outstanding comprehensive strength and obvious integration advantages, and has built many high-quality projects in multiple countries around the world. I hope that Tianjin Electric Power Construction will take this signing as an opportunity, relying on advanced, reliable, and safe Chinese technology and Chinese experience, to deeply participate in the construction of related projects in Malawi. Malawi will provide strong support for Tianjin Electric Power Construction's development in Malaysia, build a communication and exchange platform for both parties' cooperation, achieve win-win cooperation, and contribute to building a closer community with a shared future for China and Africa in the new era.

The signing ceremony was held in Conference Room 6, with Chen Jian, Deputy Chief Engineer of Tianjin Electric Power Construction and General Manager of Overseas Engineering Company, and Ni Yaoliang, President of Afripro Company, representing both parties to sign the agreement.
