On June 27, 2023, the world's first 500 kV offshore booster station was successfully installed in Yangjiang, Guangdong. After the project is completed and put into operation, it can provide 3.6 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually.

The precise docking between the upper module of the 500 kV offshore booster station and the offshore jacket of the Guangdong Yangjiang Qingzhou I and II offshore wind farm projects marks the successful completion of the installation of the offshore booster station. This offshore booster station is the world's first 500 kV AC offshore booster station, and is currently the highest voltage level, largest single unit, and heaviest AC offshore booster station in China. After the completion of the project, it can provide 3.6 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity to the power grid every year, which is of great significance for promoting the further optimization of energy production and consumption structure in Guangdong Province, promoting the innovative development of the offshore wind power industry in Guangdong Province and even the whole country, and accelerating the achievement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals.
