Fuxing is officially running on the Qinghai–Tibet railway!

On July 1, 2023, on the occasion of celebrating the 102nd birthday of the Communist Party of China, the Xining Golmud section of Qinghai–Tibet railway was officially put into use, marking that the Qinghai–Tibet railway has entered the era of bullet trains. The Xige section of the Qinghai–Tibet railway starts from Xining railway station in the east and passes through Huangyuan railway station, Haiyan Station, Wulan railway station, Delingha railway station to Golmud railway station in the west, with a total operating mileage of 829 kilometers.
At 8:30 on July 1, the C891 Multiple unit from Xining to Golmud drove out of Xining railway station and flew across the vast land of Qinghai Province to Golmud, the Gobi Salt Lake City. This is the first Fuxing Multiple unit after the completion of the quality improvement project of the Xige section of the Qinghai–Tibet railway, marking that the Qinghai–Tibet railway has officially entered the era of EMU.
The vast snowfield and towering Kunlun Mountains have witnessed miracles in the history of world railway construction. The Qinghai–Tibet railway has given birth to the spirit of Qinghai–Tibet railway to challenge the limits and create a first-class railway.
74 years ago, Qinghai and Tibet did not have an inch of railway, with backward transportation and information blockage. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, under the leadership of the Party, steel arteries were gradually laid on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. In 2006, the Qinghai–Tibet railway was put into operation, making the snow covered plateau no longer remote and the long journey smooth. In 2021, Lhasa–Nyingchi railway, the first Railway electrification in Tibet, will be put into operation, and Fuxing will be on the Roof of the World. Today, the construction of the Xige section of the Qinghai–Tibet railway has been completed, making it another major leap forward for the plateau railway.
The CR200J Fuxing Multiple unit put into operation this time is a power centralized Multiple unit designed for the high altitude, low air temperature and other environments along the Xige section of the Qinghai–Tibet railway. It has the performance of ultraviolet protection, wind and sand prevention, and can meet the operation requirements of 3500 meters above sea level.
Since the commencement of the quality improvement project in July 2022, the builders of the Guangtong–Dali railway have carried forward the spirit of the two routes and the Qinghai–Tibet railway, carried out scientific, safe and green construction, and promoted the project construction with high quality, laying a solid foundation for the operation of Fuxing Multiple unit trains with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour in the Xige section of the Qinghai–Tibet railway.
At the initial stage of the operation of bullet trains in the Xige section of the Qinghai–Tibet railway, the railway department arranged a pair of bullet trains from Xining to Golmud and Xining to Delingha at the beginning of "C". The fastest running time was 5 hours and 30 minutes in the direction from Xining to Golmud, and the fastest running time was 3 hours and 29 minutes in the direction from Delingha to Xining. Xining, Golmud, and Delingha entered the 5-hour urban life circle, facilitating the transportation of nearly 500000 residents along the line.
The opening of Fuxing Multiple unit to Xige Section of Qinghai–Tibet railway is of great significance to improving the passenger transport service of the main transport corridor of Qinghai Tibet, promoting the development of resources and industrial upgrading along the line, promoting regional high-quality development, helping rural revitalization, meeting the people's aspirations for a better life, promoting the formation of a new pattern of railway in the west, and promoting the high-quality development of railway in the west.
