Recently, the Yuhuan 2 offshore wind power project and Huaneng Yuhuan Phase III expansion project have officially started construction. After completion, this project will mark the official establishment of two major energy projects with a combined total investment of over 10 billion yuan in Yuhuan.

Yuhuan 2 Offshore Wind Power Project

Yuhuan No.2 offshore wind power project is the largest offshore wind power project in the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province. It is located in the offshore area on the east side of Phishan Island. It is planned to arrange 36 14MW wind power units with a total installed capacity of 504MW. It will be jointly developed and constructed by Huaneng Zhejiang Company and Jinke Energy, with a total investment of about 6.67 billion yuan. It is planned to realize grid connected power generation in 2024.

After the project is completed and put into operation, the average annual power generation is 1.69 billion kilowatt hours, which can achieve an output value of about 700 million yuan, save about 500000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.439 million tons. This project will achieve a series of demonstration and guidance, assist in optimizing the regional energy structure, increase the proportion of green electricity in Taizhou, and have good economic and social benefits.

Huaneng Yuhuan Phase III Expansion Project

The site of Huaneng Yuhuan Phase III Expansion Project is adjacent to Yuhuan Power Station. A 1000MW high efficiency ultra supercritical coal-fired unit will be built. It will be invested and constructed by middling coal Yudian (Yuhuan) Energy development Co., Ltd., a joint venture of middling coal Power, Huaneng Zhejiang Company and Yuhuan Communications Investment, with a total investment of 4.34 billion yuan. It is planned to be grid connected for power generation in 2025.

After the project is completed and put into operation, the average annual power generation is about 5 billion kilowatt hours, and the output value can be achieved by about 1.7 billion yuan. This project will effectively enhance the independent energy supply of Zhejiang Province's power grid, further alleviate the tense situation of electricity consumption, enhance the flexibility, economy, and reliability of power grid scheduling, and provide strong energy security for economic and social development.
