It is understood that the hydrogen produced by the project is transported to Sinopec Tahe Refining and Chemical Co., Ltd. through pipelines to replace the existing natural gas fossil energy for hydrogen production. At this point, the project has successfully completed the entire process from green hydrogen production to utilization, marking the first time China has achieved the full industrial chain connection of a 10000 ton green hydrogen refining project.

The Kuqa Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project in Sinopec Xinxing Company is responsible for the implementation of the project. It uses the abundant solar energy resources in Xinjiang to generate green hydrogen directly. The construction content mainly includes photovoltaic power generation, power transmission lines, Electrolysed water hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and transmission, utilities and supporting auxiliary production facilities. The annual Electrolysed water hydrogen production capacity is 20000 tons, hydrogen storage capacity is 210000 standard cubic meters, and hydrogen transmission capacity is 28000 standard cubic meters per hour.
Green hydrogen is directly produced through renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power, and the production process produces almost no greenhouse gases. The green hydrogen produced in this project will be supplied to Sinopec Tahe Refining and Chemical Company nearby, completely replacing the existing natural gas fossil energy for hydrogen production.

The project was successfully launched once, achieving the full process from green hydrogen production to utilization, including wind and solar power generation, green power transmission, green hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, hydrogen transportation, and green hydrogen refining. Every year, 20000 tons of green hydrogen can be supplied to downstream refining enterprises, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 485000 tons. Editor/Xie Li
