On June 30, 2023, the Qingtongxia 100MW/200MW electrochemical energy storage power station project in Wuzhong City, Ningxia, undertaken by Shandong Electric Power Construction, was successfully connected to the grid.
This project is located within the Qingtongxia New Materials Base in Wuzhong City, Ningxia. It has a construction capacity of 100 MW/200 MWh, with 38 energy storage units and a newly built 110kV booster station connected to adjacent 220kV booster stations through one 110KV line. The project selects Lithium iron phosphate battery with high safety as the energy storage element, which can effectively reduce the floor area and improve the charging and discharging efficiency of the power station. After the project is completed, it can store approximately 200000 kilowatt hours of electricity at once. Based on charging and discharging once a day, the annual electricity release can meet the annual electricity demand of approximately 30000 households.
After the project is put into operation, it will fully utilize the peak shaving and valley filling functions of the power grid, promote the integration of power source, grid, load storage, and multi energy complementary development of the Ningxia power grid, promote the consumption of new energy, and assist in the construction of a new type of power system with new energy as the main body in the local area. This is of great significance for creating a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system in the local area, and accelerating the achievement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
