On July 11, 2023, Fenhu Station Building Project of Shanghai–Suzhou–Huzhou high-speed railway will be fully commenced, marking the official commencement of construction of Fenhu Station Building Project.

The Shanghai–Suzhou–Huzhou high-speed railway starts from Shanghai Hongqiao railway station, passes through Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and ends at Huzhou railway station, Huzhou, Zhejiang Province. The main line is about 163.8 kilometers long, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It has 8 stations, including Shanghai Hongqiao, Songjiangnan, Liantang, Fenhu, Shengze, Nanxun, East Huzhou, and Huzhou railway station.

It is reported that the Fenhu Station will be shared by the Nantong Ningbo High speed Railway and the Shanghai–Suzhou–Huzhou high-speed railway, and the parking lots of the two lines will be arranged in a straddle style. The Inter-city rail of Shuixiang Tourist Line and Suzhou Metro Line 10 are introduced to Fenhu Station by the combined station scheme. Fenhu Station covers an area of 40000 square meters. The station building is designed with connection as the design concept, and naturally forms an asymmetrical and stretching architectural form. It is a comprehensive transportation hub station in the Yangtze River Delta Ecological and Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone, including high-speed railway, Inter-city rail, rail transit and water transport.

With the cooperation and efforts of various participating units, the preparation work for the construction of the Fenhu Station building project, as well as the allocation of resources such as personnel, machinery, and materials, have been in place. Under the overall coordination of the construction management unit Shanghai Railway Hub Project Construction Headquarters, all participating units have taken a decisive stance of starting work and sprinting from the beginning. They have implemented the new concept of smooth integration, green warmth, economic art, intelligence and convenience in passenger station construction of China Railway Group, and opened the curtain on the construction of Fenhu Station Building Project.

The Shanghai–Suzhou–Huzhou high-speed railway is an express railway connecting Shanghai, Suzhou, Huzhou and other cities. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will further improve the regional road network layout, effectively relieve the transportation pressure of the Shanghai Nanjing and Shanghai–Hangzhou railway corridors, which is of great significance for promoting the economic and social development along the line and the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta integration.
