Recently, the Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel Clean Energy Power Supply Project, jointly constructed by Sutong Bridge and spruce Qingneng, has been approved for construction. Sutong Bridge and spruce Qingneng will work towards the same direction of construction and strive to achieve grid connected power generation within the year.
This project is the first onshore distributed wind power project approved for construction in Nantong City, with complicated approval procedures and urgent construction time. Sutong Bridge closely cooperates with spruce Qingneng, and has successively contacted relevant departments and units at the provincial, municipal, and district levels to overcome approval difficulties.
The Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel is currently the longest and largest underwater shield tunnel in China. The Provincial Transportation Construction Bureau and Jiangsu Traffic Control have made precise arrangements to build two 4.5 megawatt onshore wind turbines and rooftop photovoltaics through the integration of wind and solar energy storage. The annual power generation will reach 24 million kilowatt hours, providing green and low-cost construction and operation electricity for the tunnel, making the Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel truly the first zero carbon highway tunnel in China.
