On July 14, 2023, the commencement ceremony of Guxing urban renewal project in Huiji District of Zhengzhou was held in Guxing Town. It is understood that the total investment of the project is 10.4 billion yuan, with a construction period of 8 years. The first phase of construction is the resettlement housing project.

Guxing Urban Renewal Project is located in Guxing Town, Huiji District, Zhengzhou City, and in the starting area of the core demonstration area for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin. The project covers an area of approximately 21.92 square kilometers and is jointly invested, constructed, and operated by Tianhe Holdings (Henan) Co., Ltd. and China Communications Urban Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. It includes infrastructure and public services, resettlement housing, cultural and tourism projects, etc.

The resettlement housing project, as the first project of the Guxing urban renewal project, carries the people's hopes for a peaceful and prosperous life. According to Ma Li, Deputy General Manager of Tianhe Holdings (Henan) Co., Ltd., the construction area of the resettlement housing project under construction this time is about 168000 square meters, which can accommodate more than 1000 households of villagers. The remaining sub projects of the project will start construction one after another, and it is planned to basically complete the urban renewal and construction work in the area within 8 years.

As the first key urban renewal unit implemented in Huiji District, the Guxing Urban Renewal Project is a landmark project of Huiji District to accelerate the construction of the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection Demonstration Area, the Yellow River History and Culture Exhibition Area, and the high-quality development leading area. It will build a model of urban renewal and a new development pole of northern fusion integrating dual carbon new energy, health care, digital economy, culture and tourism.
