Tea originated in China. With the deepening of cultural exchanges between China and Russia, more and more Russians fell in love with Chinese tea and began to understand China's Tea culture.
The 2023 Moscow Tea Industry Expo was held from July 13th to 15th at the All Russia Exhibition Center, with over 50 Chinese and Russian tea companies participating. It is understood that this activity will focus on tea, reprocessed tea, tea sets, tea food, etc., and show the charm of Chinese tea culture, promote the exchange of Tea culture between China and Russia, and enhance the influence of Chinese tea brands through thematic lectures, cultural performances, on-site tea tasting and other forms.
During the Expo, visitors can learn the difference and production process of Oolong, black tea, green tea, white tea, scented tea and other tea products, and learn the principles and skills of tea making. Natasha, a Moscow citizen, said that Russians traditionally like black tea and green tea. Chinese tea has more varieties, and its brewing time and method are more sophisticated.
Sergei Shevelev, a partner of the Moychai brand, is one of the most popular tea bloggers in Russia. On the social media platform, he described his experience of visiting Chinese tea gardens, explained the tea production process, how to drink tea correctly, and the charm of Chinese tea culture. Shevelev said that since Chinese tea entered Russia along the ten thousand mile tea ceremony more than 300 years ago, drinking tea has become an important part of Russian people's life.
The Wanli Tea Festival, which flourished in the 17th century, is another important international trade route in Eurasia after the Silk Road. It starts from Mount Wuyi in Fujian Province in the south, passes through Jiangxi, Anhui, Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Shanxi, Hebei, Inner Mongolia and other places, crosses the Mongolian Plateau, and finally arrives at St. Petersburg, Russia, 13000 kilometers long.
Kolbasinov said that whether in Russia or in China, Tea culture emphasizes the relationship between people, which is very important. Although we speak different languages, live in different cities, and eat different foods, we all love to drink tea, which provides us with the possibility of being closely connected
"This is our first visit to Moscow, and we hope to bring more Fujian tea and Chinese tea here in the future, so as to contribute to the revival of the 10000 mile tea ceremony," said Chen Jingcheng, manager of the exhibitor Fujian Shengshi Daxiang Tea Co., Ltd. During this exhibition, the company's flower and fruit tea received high praise, and many Russian customers purchased it. Some representatives of Russian tea companies also expressed their intention to cooperate.
"Chinese tea has broad prospects for development in Russia. Although tea trees are also planted in some parts of Russia, there is no doubt that the best tea still comes from China." Kolbasinov said that both China and Russia have their own Tea culture. Finding common topics and strengthening Tea culture exchanges are of great significance for promoting mutual understanding and deepening friendship between the two peoples. Editor/Xie Li
