On July 18, 2023, the construction of the 220kV Tanlian Power Transmission and Transformation Project in Haikou has officially started, and the project is scheduled to be completed in June 2025.

The Tanlian Substation project is located in Tanlian Village, Linkong Economic Zone, Jiangdong New Area, Haikou. It is planned to build one indoor distribution device building, including a cable room, 10kV distribution room, grounding transformer room, relay room and communication room, battery room, capacitor room, elevator machine room, etc. The total construction area is 8467 square meters.

At present, there is only one 220kV substation within the Jiangdong New Area. According to the evaluation results of the park's power grid, there will be a shortage of 220kV substation capacity in 2023. The newly built Tanlian substation project can meet the load development needs of the development and construction of Jiangdong New Area, improve the grid structure of Jiangdong New Area, meet the load growth and large user access needs of Jiangdong New Area, and effectively enhance the power supply capacity and reliability of enterprises in Jiangdong New Area.
