Over the past decade, the Belt and Road Initiative has generated nearly $1 trillion in investment, created 420,000 jobs for countries along the routes, and lifted nearly 40 million people out of poverty. Mr. Edin Forteau, Minister of Transport and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said in an interview that China has provided assistance to many countries in the field of infrastructure, and Bosnia and Herzegovina is open to participating in cooperation on major infrastructure projects along the Belt and Road. In response to the smears of Western countries that the Belt and Road is a so-called debt trap, Forteau countered that each country has its own right to choose its own financing plans and cooperation projects, and it cannot be said that the Belt and Road is a trap.
