In the context of accelerating economic recovery, transportation connectivity has become the focus of attention. Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region approved the preliminary design of the Zhongwei to Xiahe section of the provincial Highway 205 line (National Highway 629 line), laying a solid foundation for the project to land as soon as possible.

The Zhongwei to Xixiaohe section of Provincial Highway 205 (National Highway 629) is one of the five North-South longitudinal lines in the "Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Provincial Highway Network Layout Plan (2015-2030)", and is also a part of the Wuhai to Xiji National Highway in the "National Highway Network Plan (2021-2050)". The total length of the route of this project is 135.356 kilometers, which is constructed according to the standard of the secondary highway, with the design speed of 60 km/h and 80 km/h, and the width of the roadbed is 10 meters and 12 meters. The whole line adopts asphalt concrete pavement, and the design load grade of the new bridge and culvert is highway - grade I, and the total investment estimate is 1.9 billion yuan.

This project is the longest construction mileage during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the largest investment in the road construction project, but also 2023 autonomous region key preliminary work project, in order to speed up the preliminary work of the project, Ningxia Transportation Department, Ningxia highway management center in advance planning, overall arrangement.
