Recently, the President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, attended the commencement ceremony of the municipal road repair project on St. Mary Island undertaken by the 14th Hydropower Bureau of Power Construction Corporation of China and unveiled the project.
Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world and the largest island in Africa, with abundant tourism resources. However, the construction of infrastructure cannot meet the tourism needs of tourists. In order to change this situation, the Malaysian government has announced the plan for the 760 kilometer "Sun Road" project.

President La Jolina said that St. Mary Island is one of the tourist hotspots in Madagascar. The implementation of the project will greatly improve the transportation situation on the island, attract more tourists, and promote the development of local tourism. At the same time, the implementation of the project will create nearly 1000 jobs, and drive the development of building materials industry and the marine industry between St. Mary Island and the main island. The people will benefit from it.
Project Overview
The municipal highway project of Saint Mary Island is located in Saint Mary Island, Analangirufu region, northeast of Madagascar. The construction road is the main traffic line of Saint Mary Island. The main construction contents include the new construction of drainage structure facilities, subgrade and pavement renovation and repair, and the production and installation of traffic signal signs for the three main roads (RNS21, Bolshaya Koltsevaya line and Small Ring Road) in St. Mary Island, with a total length of 17 kilometers of asphalt concrete roads and 33 kilometers of surface roads. The project duration is 12 months.

Since Power Construction Corporation of China entered the country's market in 2006, it has mainly focused on energy and transportation. Among them, Nosibe Highway Project, No. 5 Secondary National Highway, Dovenburg Municipal Highway and other projects will provide a more convenient travel experience for this "Pearl" of the Indian Ocean.
