Enel Chile, operated through its subsidiary Enel Green Power Chile, has been authorized by the national power coordinator of the Chilean grid operator to start commercial operation of its 398 MW Guanchoi Solar power station.

The facility is now the largest photovoltaic power plant in Chile. It has approximately 900000 double-sided single crystal solar panels from an undisclosed supplier.

The array is located in the Atacama region and is expected to generate over 1100 GWh of electricity annually. This energy output will be injected into the national power system.

During the peak construction period, the factory employed over 1200 workers, mainly residents of the Atacama area.

Enel Green Power Chile recently said that it has obtained the approval of Finis Terrae Extension and Finis Terrae III Solar power station located in Mar í a Elena commune in Antofagasta, with the capacity of 126 MW and 18 MW respectively. These new projects supplement the existing 160 megawatt Finis Terrae campus, which has been operating since 2016, bringing the total comprehensive capacity to 204 megawatts.Editor/XingWentao
