John Key was Prime Minister of New Zealand from 2008 to 2016. Before this visit, he had visited China ten times. In July 2023, he visited China again with a number of New Zealand enterprises such as Stone Wood Yaoshi, and Hainan was an important part of his visit. In his view, Hainan has made great progress, and he is confident that Hainan will further develop trade with South Pacific countries. Summarizing the 10-year history of the Belt and Road Initiative, he commented: This decade has important milestone significance. This is consistent with the fact that New Zealand has been at the forefront of countries that have a positive attitude towards China. Looking ahead, he said he is very optimistic about the next decade of the Belt and Road. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
