The Federal Network Agency of Germany has awarded RWE a reward for the second phase of 900MW offshore wind power development in Nordseecluster, North Sea, Germany. The Nordseecluster project is located approximately 50 kilometers north of Juist Island and is planned to be constructed in two stages, Nordseecluster A and Nordseecluster B.
Nordic cluster A includes two sites, N-3.7 and N-3.8, Nordseecluster B includes N-3.5 and N-3.6 sites, all four of which are located in Bosch Home Appliances cluster N-3. Rhine Group has won the bid for the development, construction, and operation of the N-3.5 and N-3.6 plots in Group B of North Lake, without any negative bidding. These two wind farms are planned to commence commercial operation from 2029.
Sven Uterm ö hlen, CEO of RWE Offshore Wind Power, stated that we are fully accelerating the expansion of RWE's offshore wind power fleet in Germany. Our investment portfolio already includes six offshore wind farms along the coast of Germany. The successful auction under attractive conditions has greatly consolidated our position. This is also a good signal for energy transformation. Every newly built wind farm will increase the supply of green electricity, which is crucial for reducing electricity prices in the long term.
In 2022, this German utility company has obtained the right to develop N-3.7 and N-3.8 sites in Nordseecluster A, with a total capacity of 660MW, and will be operational in early 2027. Considering the scale of the Nordseecluster project, RWE intends to achieve significant synergies in the development, construction, and subsequent operation of four wind farms.
This German energy company stated that it has selected the preferred supplier of components for all four offshore wind farms, with a total capacity of 1.6GW. The German Federal Network Agency has also temporarily awarded RWE another site called N-6.6 for the construction of an offshore wind farm with a capacity of 630MW. N-6.6 is a pre surveyed area located approximately 50 kilometers northwest of Nordseecluster. Rheinland Group will further develop the project, but the intervention rights must be exercised by competitor companies.Editor/XingWentao
