The year 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of the the Belt and Road Initiative. When attending the relevant international seminar on the tenth anniversary of the the Belt and Road in Beijing yesterday, former politicians from many countries spoke highly of the positive role that the the Belt and Road has played in global governance, especially in the economic development of developing countries.

Several former foreign dignitaries said that over the past decade, the joint construction of the the Belt and Road cooperation project has yielded fruitful results. Especially, China actively assists developing countries in accelerating infrastructure construction, providing wings for local economic development and improving people's livelihoods.

Nowadays, over 16000 fully loaded trains travel between Europe and China every year, which is very important and of great significance for achieving high-quality development.

Zlatko Lagumdzia, former President of the Bosnia Herzegovina Council of Ministers: The world today faces challenges including new viruses and epidemics, climate change, environmental pollution, food crisis, etc. In the face of these multiple challenges, no country can respond alone or be independent. Solidarity and cooperation under the United Nations sustainable development goals, such as the the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative, are our strongest weapons to address challenges, That's why the world needs China, and China also needs the world.

Boris Tadic, former President of Serbia: Over the past decade, the Belt and Road Initiative has played a transformational role in the international arena, bringing more multilateralism to the world than ever before, and creating better conditions for developing countries.
