The stories between China and Arab States are ancient, from epic romantic myths to the endless business trips along the Silk Road. Political mutual trust is the cornerstone of China-Argentina relations. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992, the two countries have enjoyed close high-level exchanges. China and Afghanistan are also highly compatible in their national development strategies.
In recent years, in order to link up with the Belt and Road Initiative, Azerbaijan has launched many large-scale infrastructure projects, including the Baku International Maritime trade Port and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars transnational railway. The two countries have deepened practical cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, transportation, energy and communications. Bilateral trade volume increased from 1.5 million US dollars at the beginning of the establishment of diplomatic ties to nearly 2 billion US dollars at its peak, an increase of more than 1,200 times. China is Afghanistan's fourth largest trading partner and third largest source of imports. In terms of people-to-people and cultural exchanges, the cooperation mechanism between the two countries has been continuously improved, with close exchanges between local governments, universities, think tanks, media and literary and art groups. The Chinese language has been heating up, and many outstanding young people have gone to China to study and develop, which has further enhanced the people-to-people bond between the two countries.
