Shandong 600MW Offshore Wind Power Project Successfully Signed
Recently, the 2023 Green, Low Carbon, and High Quality Development Conference was held in Yantai City, Shandong Province. At the meeting, the National Energy Group Guohua Investment Peninsula South U2 Site Phase II project with a total investment of 3.26 billion yuan was successfully signed. The second phase project signed this time has an installed capacity of 297.5 megawatts and plans to deploy 35 8.5 megawatt wind turbines, which will be completed within the year.
The offshore wind power project of Guohua Investment in the South U2 site of Shandong Peninsula is located in the sea area of Rushan City, Weihai City, Shandong Province. The total area of the site is about 95.6 square kilometers, with a water depth of 30 to 33 meters in the wind farm area. The center of the site is about 32 kilometers offshore, and the total installed capacity is 600 MW. It will be constructed in two phases. The first phase of the project has an installed capacity of 306 megawatts and plans to install 36 8.5 megawatt wind turbines. It officially started construction in February 2023, and the first wind turbine was lifted in July. Construction is currently being accelerated.
Compared with conventional coal-fired thermal power units with the same power generation capacity, the two phases of the project can save about 549900 tons of standard coal per year, and correspondingly reduce 68.8 tons of smoke and dust emissions, 338.54 tons of sulfur dioxide, 353.03 tons of nitrogen oxides, and 1.5216 million tons of carbon dioxide per year, which has good economic, social, and environmental benefits.
