On September 6, 2023, the International Energy Transformation Forum 2023, co-sponsored by the National Energy Administration, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the International Renewable Energy Agency, opened in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. According to reports, China has built the world's largest power supply system and clean power generation system, among which hydropower, wind power, photovoltaic, biomass power generation and nuclear power under construction for many years ranked first in the world. As of the first half of this year, the cumulative installed power generation capacity reached 2.71 billion kilowatts, of which the installed capacity of renewable energy reached 1.322 billion kilowatts, historically exceeding coal power, an increase of about three times in 10 years.
Data show that in the past 10 years, China's per capita installed power generation capacity has increased from 0.92 kilowatts to 1.8 kilowatts, and per capita electricity consumption has increased from 3919 kilowatt-hours to 6116 kilowatt-hours.
Strengthening international energy cooperation on all fronts has played its due role in stabilizing the global energy market and promoting green and low-carbon transition. At present, China's overseas investment in non-fossil energy has exceeded that of fossil energy, and a number of landmark projects on clean, efficient and high-quality green energy cooperation have been completed.
During the Forum, the theme exhibition "The 10th Anniversary of China's Energy Revolution" was held, the International Energy Change Alliance was launched, and a series of outcomes such as the video "Energy Revolution, China in Action", the Global Clean Energy Partnership Initiative, and the Blue Book Report of the Energy Change Index were released, laying a solid foundation for promoting global practical cooperation on clean energy. It is reported that through the cross-regional green electricity trading mechanism, the forum purchased 360 green certificates from the photovoltaic power generation project in Zhangjiakou, Hebei, equivalent to 360,000 KWH of green electricity, to achieve 100% green electricity supply.
