On September 8, 2023, the theme conference to celebrate the tenth anniversary of China Africa the Belt and Road cooperation and promote investment in Africa hosted by the Chinese Mission to the African Union was held in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. The conference aims to summarize and publicize the experience and achievements of China Africa the Belt and Road investment and promote China Africa cooperation.

Hu Changchun, head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union, said in a speech at the meeting that the joint construction of the the Belt and Road has opened up a new direction for China Africa exchanges and cooperation and set a model for building a community of shared future for mankind in a new era between China and Africa. China has invested in 52 countries in Africa, creating over a million job opportunities for Africa. In recent years, China has continuously expanded its investment in Africa, with more diverse investment entities, and private enterprises accounting for 70% of the investment.

Mu Changjia, member of the AU Commission, said at the meeting that the the Belt and Road Initiative is a landmark program of international cooperation. He said, "In the past decade, the the Belt and Road Initiative has achieved remarkable success, and we will continue to cooperate with China. A bright and win-win future awaits us."

Representatives from the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the Chinese Embassy in the African Union, the African Union Commission, investment institutions, and Chinese enterprises in Africa attended the meeting on that day. The delegates exchanged and discussed on the the Belt and Road investment experience and achievements, innovative ways and key investment projects to deepen practical cooperation, further enhance the synergy of ideas and behaviors, and promote China Africa cooperation and deepen interaction.

On the same day, the Chinese Mission to the African Union also held a photo exhibition of the achievements of China's cooperation in investment projects in Africa, a video broadcast celebrating the tenth anniversary of China Africa the Belt and Road cooperation, and the release of the Chinese version of the African Union's Agenda 2063.
