Recently, at the 20th China-ASEAN Expo held in Nanning, Guangxi, the Lao company affiliated to CGN Energy International and the Lao government signed a project development agreement for the first phase of the Northern Laos Interconnection Clean Energy Base Project, marking the formal acquisition of the project by CGN Energy International. The development rights of the project are allowed to carry out preliminary work of the project.

The Northern Laos Interconnection Clean Energy Base Project is a key project of CGN to implement the national Belt and Road Initiative and help build a China-Laos community with a shared future. It is the core supporting power supply project for China-Laos power interconnection EDLT and 500kV lines.

The project spans the three provinces of Oudomxai, Phongsaly and Luang Namtha in northern Laos. It will build a clean energy base integrating wind, photovoltaic and water storage. The project will be planned once and implemented in phases.

The construction of this project will help bring advantageous production capacity in the domestic new energy field to Laos, promote domestic and international dual cycles, and drive local energy transformation and industrial chain upgrading in Laos. At the same time, it will also drive the economic and social development of Laos and significantly improve the level of power interconnection between China and Laos. Editor/GaoLiMei
