Argentina is the first country in Latin America to officially join the Belt and Road Initiative. In the Patagonian Plateau in southern Argentina, China-Arab cooperation dam projects - the Santa Cruz River Gisay Hydropower Station and the Kirchner-Ceperik Hydropower Station Dam are under construction. According to Manuela Castañeda, a reporter from Argentina’s national news agency, the project will improve Argentina’s energy and infrastructure environment and meet the electricity needs of one million Argentine households. Francisco Alberto Teiana, director of the International Cooperation Department of the Argentine Ministry of Culture, said that the Belt and Road Initiative is not only of great significance to Argentina, but also helps to accelerate the integration process of Latin America.
