Recently, some sections of the Ningde Automobile City Interchange and Connection Project of the Shenhai Expressway have officially started construction in Xiabaishi, Fu'an.

This project is one of the convenient transportation projects for townships in our province, which starts at the west gate of the Huan'ao Shipyard in Yingping Village, connects with the current national highway G228, extends towards the seaside outside of Doumentou Village, and interchanges with the provincial highway S203 near Doumentou Village. The Baishi Double Tunnel is built to cross the Shenhai Expressway and Baishi Interchange. After a tunnel is excavated near Hengli Village, the Xiangli Bridge is built to cross the current village road and sea area, and finally reaches Baizhao Village. This section is constructed as a two-way six lane first-class highway with a design speed of 60 km/h and a total length of about 3.983 km. It is planned to open to traffic in October 2025.

This project is an important infrastructure support for the development planning of Fu'an Baima Port Area and the development and construction of the Baima Group. It will build the most convenient and fast port dredging channel for Baima Port Area to connect with surrounding areas and inland areas. After the completion of the project, it is beneficial to fully leverage the role of national and provincial trunk and branch highways in driving the county township economy, supporting industrial development, and gathering resource elements, promoting the development and utilization of natural resources in the region, as well as the integration and appreciation of land and tourism resources along the line.
