Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy of Türkiye, said that Türkiye needs to install 5GW of solar and wind energy capacity every year by 2035. In an energy event, Bayraktar said that Türkiye has only 30 years to change its energy system and its agricultural, construction and industrial sectors, and added that renewable energy has great potential to achieve the goal of 2035, that is, to provide reliable and affordable energy in an environmentally friendly way.
Türkiye's national energy plan points out that by 2035, the share of renewable energy in primary energy consumption will increase from 16.7% in 2020 to 23.7%. By 2035, the installed capacity of solar energy will increase to 52.9GW.
Solar and wind energy will play a key role in Türkiye's energy transition. In addition to solar energy, the installed capacity of wind power will reach 29.6GW. Bayraktar said that we need to find the right balance between providing reliable energy and competitive energy prices.Editor/XingWentao
