On the morning of October 16, 2023, the Huainan Fengtai New Port Comprehensive Wharf and Lingang Industrial Park project began construction. This project is an important part of the overall layout of "one core, two belts, and three wings" in Huainan Port Area. Its construction and operation have enriched the economic structure of Huainan water transportation, expanded foreign trade channels, and played a very important role in the high-quality transformation and development of Huainan City's economy.

Fengtai New Port Comprehensive Terminal is located in the Jiuliwan Operation Area of Fengtai Port Area, Huainan Port, on the left bank of the left branch of the Huaihe River, about 2.3 kilometers away from the upstream Yongxing River estuary. It is jointly constructed and operated by the Fengtai County People's Government and Lianyungang Port Holding Group Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 1.55 billion yuan. It is planned to establish 8 2000 ton comprehensive berths, including 3 general cargo berths, 3 bulk cargo berths, and 2 bulk cargo berths, with a designed annual throughput of 9.2 million tons. The total land acquisition area is 896.8 acres, and the supporting construction includes a bulk cargo warehouse, a bulk cargo yard, and auxiliary living facilities. The supporting construction of the second phase of the project includes a rear bulk cargo storage area, including a bulk cargo storage yard, bulk cargo warehouse, and warehouse, with a reserved long-term "rail water intermodal" belt conveyor two-way transportation corridor.

Since 2022, Huainan Port has had four port projects under construction, and seven important water transportation projects have been launched, including the Jianghuai Hub Port, Shouxian Xinqiao Comprehensive Terminal, and Fengtai Xingang Comprehensive Terminal. Efforts have been made to turn Huainan Port into a logistics distribution center in northern Anhui, a direct shipping hub with resource allocation capabilities in the Jianghuai region, a Jianghai River intermodal port in northern Anhui, and an external gateway port in the Huaihe River basin.
