On October 20, 2023, the feasibility study report review meeting for Guangxi Guanyang Pumped Storage Power Station was held in Guilin. During the meeting, representatives attended on-site inspections of the upper and lower reservoirs, exploration adits, and other areas of the Guanyang project.

Guanyang Pumped Storage Power Station is a key project implemented during the 14th Five Year Plan for the Medium and Long Term Development of Pumped Storage (2021-2035), with a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts and the installation of four reversible water pump turbine units with a single unit capacity of 300000 kilowatts. After the completion of the power station, it will further improve the power structure of Guangxi, enhance the peak shaving capacity and safe operation level of the power grid, and effectively promote the development of clean energy, energy conservation and emission reduction, and local economic and social development.

Since the launch of the project in January 2022, Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Company has actively implemented the instructions of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Southern Power Grid Company to accelerate the planning and construction of the Guilin Guanyang Pumped Storage Power Station project. With the full support of the project design unit, the company has worked overtime, worked together, and overcome difficulties. The project has been promoted to complete the pre feasibility study report review in June 2022 Complete the review of three major thematic reports in November 2022.
