On October 25, 2023, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Russian Prime Minister Mishustin during the meeting of heads of government (prime ministers) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. This meeting was an important exchange between the leaders of the two countries, aiming to further deepen the cooperative relationship between China and Russia and promote the docking of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union.
During the meeting, Li Qiang said that China is willing to further align its development strategies with Russia, strengthen cooperation between the two countries in economic, political, cultural and other fields, and promote the integration of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union. China will continue to support Russia's efforts in safeguarding national security and development interests, and at the same time hopes that Russia can provide a more fair, just and transparent business environment for Chinese enterprises to invest in Russia.
Mishustin congratulated China on successfully hosting the third Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum, saying that Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era is at an unprecedented high level. He emphasized that the two countries have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, and security, and will continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields of science and technology, culture, education, etc. in the future to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations.
