The Belt and Road Cooperation Initiative is an important international cooperation initiative initiated by China, aiming to promote economic cooperation and development in countries along the routes. Under this initiative, China Huadian Corporation responded positively and undertook the construction of the Lower El Sai Hydropower Station project in Cambodia. This project not only reflects the strength and contribution of China Huadian Corporation, but also demonstrates the responsibility of Chinese enterprises in promoting international cooperation and development.
Through this project, China Huadian Corporation has provided electricity to local people, lighting up their lives and allowing them to see the light of hope in the dark night. Since its completion and operation in 2013, the Elaksai Hydropower Station has produced a total of approximately 10 billion kilowatt-hours of green energy, providing a strong driving force for Cambodia's economic development.

At its peak, the power generation of the Elaksai Hydropower Station accounted for 30% of Cambodia's national electricity, which greatly promoted Cambodia's power industry. Electricity is an important cornerstone of the development of modern society. With sufficient power supply, various undertakings in Cambodia can develop better. In addition, the construction of the El Sai Hydropower Station also created local employment opportunities and promoted the development of the local economy.
Through this project, the price of electricity in Cambodia has been reduced from the highest US$0.9 per kilowatt hour to US$0.16, and the quality of life of the people has also been significantly improved. The reduction in electricity prices enables people to better enjoy modern life and brings more opportunities for their development. At the same time, China Huadian Group Corporation also actively participates in local public welfare undertakings and provides more help and support to local people. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
