On the morning of November 13, 2023, the fourth centralized commencement and signing event for major projects in the city and the commencement ceremony for the Jianghua Bay Water Source Pumped Storage Power Station were held. A total of 250 major projects were started and signed, with a total investment of 60.31 billion yuan.

It is understood that the Jianghua Bay Water Source Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Xiangjiang Township, Jianghua Yao Autonomous County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. It is a key construction project in Hunan Province in 2023. The installed capacity of the power station is 1.4 million kilowatts, with a total investment of approximately 8.96 billion yuan and an annual power generation of 1.58 billion kilowatt hours. The construction period is planned to be 6 years.

The Jianghua Bay Water Source Pumped Storage Project is a key implementation project of the National Energy Administration's "14th Five Year Plan" for pumped storage, and is also a major energy project promoted by provinces and cities with a focus on overall planning. After the completion of the project, it will further play a role in peak shaving, valley filling, frequency regulation, and phase modulation of the power grid, effectively enhance energy security capabilities, effectively ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid, contribute to the power supply of Yongzhou in the province, and play a positive role in promoting local economic and social development.
