China Railway and CRRC Collaborate on the S ã o Paulo Intercity Railway Project
On November 21, 2023, according to a reporter from Jiandao Network, the Guijiang Waterway Engineering Project held a construction mobilization meeting in Majiang Operation Area, Zhaoping Port District, Hezhou Port, Majiang Town, Zhaoping County, Hezhou City. This means that Guangxi has made significant progress in building a comprehensive transportation system and improving the level of inland waterway networking.
The Guijiang Waterway Project starts from the mouth of Gongcheng River in Pingle County, Guilin City and ends at the Lianhua Bridge in Wuzhou City. It has a total length of 211 kilometers and is constructed according to the standards of Class III inland waterway. It is navigable for 1000 ton ships and is designed with a waterway scale of 3.5 meters × 60 meters × 480 meters (water depth × width × Bending radius), with a navigation guarantee rate of 95%. The main project content includes dredging engineering, reef blasting engineering, shore protection engineering, navigation aids engineering, cable renovation engineering, and support system engineering. A total of 45 shoals in the waterway have been renovated, with the main project quantities of 4.39 million cubic meters for dredging and 1.54 million cubic meters for reef blasting. The estimated total investment is 1.69 billion yuan, and the construction period is 36 months.
Pang Xuesong, the chief planner of the Department of Communications and Transportation of Guangxi, pointed out that the Xiang Gui Canal - Guijiang River Channel is an important part of the "four vertical" navigation of Han, Xiang and Gui in the "four vertical and four horizontal networks" of the national high-level channel, and is also a cross basin canal connection project connecting the Yangtze River and the Pearl River water systems. Going north can connect the Hunan Guangxi region and connect with the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area downstream, playing a very important role in promoting the rapid and coordinated development of the economy along the Yangtze River and regional economy.
