On November 23rd, the Xing'an League Jinfeng 2 million kilowatt wind power to green hydrogen demonstration project (grid connected) was approved by the Autonomous Region Energy Bureau, making it the largest integrated wind power to hydrogen demonstration project in Inner Mongolia so far.

In August 2022, Xinjiang Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Xing'an League Administrative Office, initiating the preliminary work of Goldwind Technology's first large-scale wind power hydrogen production project. From site selection to technical evaluation, multiple rounds of technical demonstration and iteration were carried out, and it took 15 months to complete the entire closed-loop process of technical scheme, implementation path, signing of methanol long-term agreement, and one-time approval of the 2 million project.

The total planned investment for this project is 13.665 billion yuan, with a planned wind power scale of 2 million kilowatts, an annual hydrogen production capacity of 92200 tons, and supporting facilities of 118 tons of hydrogen storage and 160000 kilowatts/2 hour energy storage. The permanent water source for hydrogen production is the Chalsen Reservoir (surface water), and the hydrogen usage scenario is supported by the 561800 ton green methanol demonstration project. This project is currently the world's largest green methanol project, and the green methanol produced is mainly used as zero carbon fuel for the shipping industry.

The Development and Reform Commission of Xing'an League stated that the implementation of the Jinfeng 2 million kilowatt wind power to green hydrogen demonstration project is an important measure for Xing'an League to build a new energy system, enhance the supply capacity of national important energy and strategic resource bases, and accelerate the development of the entire new energy industry chain in Xing'an League, laying a solid foundation for building a new energy base of tens of millions of kilowatts in Xing'an League.Editor/XuNing
