On November 25, 2023, the construction of the new campus project of Hubei Three Gorges Vocational and Technical College, undertaken by China First Metallurgical Group, began. After the completion of this project, it will comprehensively promote the high-quality development of vocational education in Yichang, promote the integration of industry and education in the region, and assist in the high-quality construction of a model city for the protection of the Yangtze River.

The project is located within the planning scope of Yichang Science and Education City, with a total planned area of 2500 acres and a total construction area of approximately 600000 square meters. Among them, the first phase plans to construct 1200 acres of land with a building area of approximately 320000 square meters. The main construction and installation project of the third section of the first development zone of the project includes 5 buildings, including the basement, logistics office building, cafeteria, sports stadium stands, transformer and distribution room, and other infrastructure.

It is understood that the project will follow the development positioning of "one school, one district", adopt a planning structure of "one axis, two belts", and implement the idea of "one-time planning, phased construction". It is planned to be completed and put into use by 2025.

The project leader of China First Metallurgical Corporation stated that in the subsequent construction process, the project team will take project planning as the guide, lean construction, and strictly control quality and safety, striving to build the new campus of Hubei Three Gorges Vocational and Technical College into a green and pleasant benchmark beautiful campus.
