This is a deep copper mine waste rock dump in Baiyin City, Gansu Province. At the end of 2019, CNNC Huineng signed a cooperation framework agreement with local enterprises to develop and construct a 100-megawatt photovoltaic power generation project in a deep copper mine waste rock yard, and promote the integration of ecological environment management and industrial development according to local conditions. The project will be completed and put into operation in February 2023 and will be connected to the grid to generate electricity.

Through the construction of photovoltaic projects in deep copper mine waste rock fields, new economic value has been generated in the originally abandoned mountainous areas.
