Dubai developer Wasl Asset Management has chosen China State Construction Engineering Corporation to build The Island on reclaimed land along the Jumeirah Beach coast, a 10.5 hectare resort.

This $1.2 billion project was first announced in 2017 and will feature hotels for MGM, Aria, and Bellagio, as well as a dock. The land reclamation has been completed and the foundation has been installed.

The consultants involved in the plan include Dutch architect UNStudio, British designer Brewer Smith Brewer Group, and German Buro Kling Architectural Engineering Consultants.

MGM Resorts is a casino operator in Las Vegas and other American cities. Some speculate that if the UAE changes its gambling laws, it will open a casino on the island.

This kind of change is about to come. In September, the Emirate established the General Administration for Commercial Gaming with the aim of establishing a regulatory framework for national lottery and commercial gambling. This project will promote the responsible release of the economic potential of commercial games.Editor/XingWentao
