On November 30, 2023, the signing ceremony of Tongwei Solar Photovoltaic Industry Project and the commencement ceremony of the Global Innovation Research and Development Center project was held in Chengdu. The Tongwei Solar Photovoltaic 25GW Battery and 20GW Module Industrialization Project with fixed assets investment of about 10.5 billion yuan was officially signed and settled in Chengdu, and the construction of Tongwei Solar Global Innovation Research and Development Center project was started on the site. Wang Fengchao, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, and Liu Hanyuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tongwei Group, attended the ceremony.

"All along, Tongwei has been based in Chengdu, deeply cultivating photovoltaics, and has gone through a leapfrog development process from 'following', 'running together' to 'leading'. It is also the development process of Chengdu's photovoltaic industry from being strong to being strong. At the ceremony, the People's Government of Shuangliu District and Tongwei officially signed an investment agreement for solar photovoltaic industry projects. The project is planned to have a total investment of 10.5 billion yuan in Shuangliu Park, Chengdu High tech Comprehensive Bonded Zone, to construct an annual production of 25GW of solar cells and 20GW of photovoltaic modules. Among them, the battery cell project will construct an annual production line of 25GW of battery cells, which is expected to be completed and put into operation in the first half of 2024. The component project plans to construct a 20GW component production line with an annual output, and is expected to be completed and put into operation by 2025. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will continuously unleash the development potential of "building circles and strong chains" chain owners, and help Chengdu build a billion dollar photovoltaic industry cluster.

At the same time, the Tongwei Solar Global Innovation and R&D Center project, which has officially started construction, aims to gather professional R&D teams to build a world-class photovoltaic innovation and R&D center.
