On January 3, 2024, China Railway Corporation (CRRC) put into commercial operation a light rail train developed for Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. This is the first time a Chinese made light rail train has served the public transportation system in Mexico City.

According to the relevant introduction, the operating route of the light rail train is 13.04 kilometers long. This train adopts articulated bogies with fully independent intellectual property rights of CRRC, ensuring stable operation of the train in complex and winding road conditions. At the same time, the train is equipped with triple protection measures of electric braking system, air braking system, and magnetic rail braking system, ensuring the safety and reliability of the train.
