The vehicle base has started construction
On the morning of May 23, under the Sike Reservoir in Tieshan District of Huangshi Development Zone, Baihua Road, Jinshan Avenue, and Zhongshan Avenue enclosed the plot, technicians stood high and used the total station to make measurements. The first-phase project of the tram has a total length of about 27 kilometers, including an elevated section of 3 kilometers, a tunnel section of 1.9 kilometers, and 30 stations. The starting point of the line is located at the intersection of Shenjiaying on Huangshi Avenue, crossing Cihu Lake and Huangjing Mountain along the line, connecting the old and new urban areas, and seamlessly connecting with the industrial tourism train. The end point is to the west of the Mine Expo Museum, connecting high-speed rail stations, passenger stations and other transportation hubs, Hubei Normal University The university and the Hubei Institute of Technology are two universities, as well as multiple commercial complexes.
The route from east to west and from north to south will build the city's first backbone bus corridor, which can extend to the Wanda business district in the long run and connect to Ezhou Shunfeng Airport. The first phase of the project has a construction period of 30 months and is expected to be fully opened by the end of 2022. Among them, about 10 kilometers from Baihua Road to Mining Bo North Road is expected to open trial operation in advance in 2021.

In terms of transport capacity, a tram has a capacity of 300 passengers and a BRT of only 100 people. The tram is about 3 times the BRT.
In terms of speed, the average speed of trams is 25-30 kilometers per hour, and the average speed of BRT is 18-20 kilometers per hour.
In terms of energy consumption, the energy consumption per 100 kilometers of trams is 0.47 kilograms of standard coal, BRT is 0.57 kilograms of standard coal, and trams are only about 80% of BRT.
New Development Bank's $ 400 million loan
The total investment in the first phase of Huangshi Tram is 4.58 billion yuan. This is the largest urban infrastructure project in Huangshi since it was built.
In October 2019, the National Development and Reform Commission approved and approved Huangshi to use the New Development Bank loan funds to build a tram project. In December, the loan project was finally approved by the New Development Bank ’s Executive Board, setting the highest single foreign financing quota in the province.
