On May 30, 2020, China Railway Construction issued an announcement that the No. 1 Tiejiachong Tunnel of Huanggang-Huangmei High-speed Railway, Hubei, constructed by China Railway Fourth Bureau, was successfully opened.

The Tiejiachong No. 1 tunnel is 860 meters long and the route passes through the Dabie Mountain granite stratum. It is difficult to construct. The construction personnel use intelligent supporting equipment to safely pass through complex geology, effectively solving the problems of low tunnel construction efficiency and high safety risk factor. At present, the construction of the main project of the yellow-high-speed railway has been completed by about 50%.

It is understood that the Huanghuang high-speed railway has a total length of 125.12 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is an integral part of the Wuhan-Hangzhou high-speed railway and the Beijing-Kowloon high-speed railway section, which is one of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" in the "National Medium and Long-Term Railway Network" plan. Starting from Huanggang East Station in the north, passing through 5 cities including Huanggang, Xishui, Wuxue, Qichun and Huangmei.

After the Huanghuang High-speed Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it takes only 15 minutes from Wuhan to Huanggang and only 3 hours to Hangzhou.

China Railway Construction has overcome all difficulties in the construction process and created a miracle. Are you not proud of such a central enterprise? Editor/Peng Xue
