Recently, GE Renewable Energy Group and China Power Construction Group South-South Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd. jointly announced that Pakistan Hydropower Development Agency has confirmed the use of six units provided by GE Renewable Energy Group in the first phase of the newly constructed Dasu Hydropower Station in the country. Francis turbine and generator equipment.

The Dasu Hydropower Project has a total installed capacity of 2.2 GW and is one of the most important power generation projects in Pakistan. GE, with more than 50 years of experience in the construction of energy facilities in Pakistan, will be responsible for the design, supply, supervision and installation of these six new 360 MW Francis turbines and generator sets to ensure their commissioning and carry out corresponding monitoring work. Ensure the smooth operation of the unit. Generator circuit breakers are provided by GE Grid Solutions.

The EPC contract of the Dasu Hydropower Plant Electromechanical Equipment Complete Project (Phase I) signed by China Electric Power Construction Central South Institute Joint Venture and Pakistan Hydropower. This contract is the electromechanical bidding section, and the scope includes the hydroelectric generating unit and its BOP auxiliary equipment, water inlet valve, bridge machine, 765kV ultra-high voltage equipment (main transformer, parallel reactor, GIS and GIL), GCB, IPB, monitoring and protection, Outgoing platforms and other equipment, work includes design, procurement, supply, construction and installation and technical services.

The chairman of Pakistan Hydropower Development Agency and the retired lieutenant general Muzmille Hussein said: "The Dasu Hydropower Station plays a crucial role in greatly improving China's hydropower production and grid connection capacity. Reliance on high-cost thermal power generation, thereby reducing electricity prices." It is expected that after commissioning in 2026, this hydropower station will meet the power needs of about 4 million Pakistani households, bringing new momentum to the social and economic development of remote areas of the country.

This project is another powerful practice of the GEGE Renewable Energy Group and Chinese enterprises to carry out the "joint market development, joint investment and financing, joint operation" cooperation strategy on overseas energy infrastructure projects. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan is also the origin of the cooperation between the two sides in the development of overseas energy projects. Editor/Tian Zengpeng
