On June 22, 2020, China Construction Seventh Engineering Bureau and China Construction International won the bid for the first cross-river bridge project in the Bangladesh country market in the name of a joint-stock company. This was also the first spot bidding project in Bangladesh in the name of a joint-stock company.

The project is located in northwestern Bangladesh. The bridge spans the fourth largest river, the Teesta River, which crosses Bangladesh and India. It is a larger bridge project across Bangladesh. The project includes 1.49 kilometers of main bridge, 2 kilometers of approach roads and 6.3 kilometers of river management projects. The contract value is 3.679 billion taka, about 44 million US dollars, and the construction period is 36 months. After the project is completed, the commuting distance between the two highways will be shortened by about 80 kilometers, which will effectively promote local economic liaison and social development.

Notification of winning the bid

China Construction Seventh Engineering Bureau actively implements the Belt and Road Initiative and effectively fulfills the social responsibilities of the countries along the route. The winning of the bid will further consolidate the competitiveness of China Construction Seventh Engineering Bureau in the Bangladesh country market and lay a solid foundation for the next step of expanding marketing and other business in South Asia.
