Recently, SINOMACH China United Engineering Co., Ltd. signed the Power Island EPS (Design + Procurement + Technical Service) contract for the Hong Kong Integrated Waste Treatment Facilities Phase I project.

The project is located in the south coast of Shiguzhou, far away from the urban area of Hong Kong. A waste incineration power generation facility, a waste separation and recycling facility, a seawater desalination plant, a sewage treatment plant, a garbage dock and environmental protection will be built on a newly built artificial island of about 16 hectares of reclamation area Educational base, etc. Because it is a major livelihood project, the Hong Kong government is very cautious about the selection of technical service providers for this project, and has high requirements for all aspects.

After the project is completed, it can process 3,000 tons of mixed municipal waste every day, and can produce about 480 million kilowatt-hours of electricity every year. The output of green energy will provide electricity to 100,000 households in Hong Kong, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 440,000 tons per year, and truly achieve municipal administration. The reduction, harmless and resourceful disposal of garbage will greatly reduce the pressure on the near-saturated landfill, and the problems of garbage disposal that trouble the people of Hong Kong will be solved.

The projects jointly undertaken by China this time include Power Island turbo-generator sets, air cooling systems and closed circulating water systems. As an important part to ensure the normal operation of the whole plant equipment and external power supply, the safety, stability, reliability and other requirements of this part of the system are very high.
