The whole line of the project is divided into a number of unit projects. There are 1 split tunnel and 63 bridges (including interchange ramp bridges, connecting bridges, split interchanges, S108 reroute bridges), of which 34 main line bridges are set up. There are 5 interchanges, 1 service area, 1 parking area, 1 maintenance center and 1 monitoring sub-center.

After the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will form a "well" shape modern expressway network with Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, Hurong Expressway and Mazhu Expressway. It only takes 1 hour from Dawu to Wuhan, which will greatly improve the travel environment of Dawu and improve the comprehensive regional transportation. The hub's gathering and transportation system to the outside world, and strengthening the transportation links between the Dabie Mountain economic circle and the Wuhan city circle are of great significance to the development of the cultural tourism industry along the route and the economic development of the old revolutionary base areas.
