On July 5, the construction of four coal-fired power projects from the Shanghai Temple in Inner Mongolia to the Linyi UHV DC transmission project in Shandong officially started, with a total investment of 27.5 billion yuan.

On April 28, 2016, the National Energy Administration approved the “Planning Power Supply Construction Plan for the UHV Transmission Channel from Shanghai Miao to Shandong”, and agreed to support the construction of 4 new 2×1 million-kilowatt coal-fired power projects, including 4 planned coal-fired power projects They are Shandong Energy Inner Mongolia Shenglu Power Plant 2×1 million kilowatt ultra-supercritical air-cooled unit coal-fired power generation project, Guodian Shuangwei Shanghai Miao Power Plant 2×1 million kilowatt ultra-supercritical air-cooled unit coal-fired power generation project, Huaneng Great Wall Shanghai Miao Power Plant 2 ×1 million kilowatt ultra-supercritical air-cooled unit coal-fired power generation project and Shenhua Guoneng Shanghai Miao Power Plant 2×1 million kilowatt ultra-supercritical air-cooled unit coal-fired power generation project.
Liu Xiaoyan, deputy director of the Economic Development Bureau of Etuokeqianqi, is the first UHV DC transmission project from Shanghai Miao to Linyi, Shandong, with the transmission capacity set to a world record. The total investment of the project is 22.1 billion yuan, the total length of the line is 1,238 kilometers, and the transmission capacity is 10 million kilowatts. It was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission on December 1, 2015, and construction officially started on December 15, 2015. The line project was completed in August 2017, and the overall project of ±800 kV UHV DC transmission was completed in December 2017 with power transmission conditions.

The starting point of the UHV DC transmission project from Shanghai Miao to Shandong is the Shanghai Miao converter station in Etuokeqian Banner, Ordos City, and the landing point is the Linyi converter station in Shandong, passing through Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei, Henan, and Shandong provinces .
