On the morning of July 10, 2020, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Zhejiang Cloud Computing Data Center Project was held in the northern area of Banshan Base of Hangzhou Hanggang.

Zhejiang Cloud Computing Data Center, with a total investment of 15.8 billion yuan, is jointly invested and built by Hangzhou Iron and Steel Group and Alibaba. It adopts Alibaba’s latest design, construction and operation standard system, can run 200,000 servers, and will become the most energy-efficient in the future. The data center and one of the nation's unit areas have the largest computing capacity.

At present, the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation are profoundly changing the international political and economic order, and profoundly changing the global economic and social form. Zhejiang Province formulated and issued the "Three-year Action Plan for New Infrastructure Construction in Zhejiang Province (2020-2022)", striving to accelerate the establishment of a high-quality and modern new infrastructure system through a three-year period and trillion investment.

The construction of the data center is an important part of the new infrastructure. In the future, it will accelerate the digital, network and intelligent transformation of traditional industries in Zhejiang Province, promote the quality, efficiency and power transformation of economic development, and further establish and improve data communication for Zhejiang.
